Crown Materials
Arden Town Dental offers two different materials for crowns, ceramic-polymer and our recommended option: BruxZir® Zirconia
Why you should choose BruxZir® Zirconia:
-
Strength: Zirconia is approximately 5.5 times stronger than ceramic-polymer in posterior crowns, and 4.5 times stronger in anterior crowns
-
Durability: Well maintained Zirconia crowns can last upwards of 20 years, while ceramic-polymer can last 5-15 years, but may chip and need replacement sooner
-
Preparation: Zirconia crown installation requires less tooth material removal than ceramic-polymer & preserves more of your natural tooth structure
-
Stain Resistance: Zirconia is highly stain resistant and maintains its appearance over time, while ceramic-polymer can be prone to discoloration and staining
-
Biocompatibility: While both materials are highly biocompatible due to the lack of metal, Zirconia has been highly praised across the dental industry for its high biocompatibility and minimal tissue irritation.
